UV Preconditioning Tester perform irradiation tests to find solar panels that are susceptible to degradation by ultraviolet (UV) rays and thus reduced efficiency.

With special test conditions, which are applied during most of the research and verification of solar cells, usually done before conducting humidity and thermal cycling tests. The UV test with solar cells was performed at a temperature of 60°C ±5°C and under UV irradiation (UVB and UVA+AVB).
The operation of the test cabinet complies with the following standards:

Note: The IEC 61646:2008 standard for modules with thin film requires “a load of such size at the STC that the module will operate near the maximum electrical point”, but IEC 61215-2:2016 there is no such requirement. This is because if a UV high-pressure metal halide lamp or a filtered xenon lamp is used to perform this test, a load is required, but an ultraviolet fluorescent lamp does not. The system integrates many technical highlights, such as centralized control, auto dimming, servo drive, panoramic scanner, automatic tracking of irradiation homogeneity, database system , etc...

Features of UV test cabinet:
- With touch screen control, full automatic, high precision system loop (horizontal and vertical drive)
- Any mechanical operation is guaranteed by the PLC lock. Includes comprehensive auto-scanning radiation detector, integrated auto-irradiation, data acquisition and auto-archiving of scan data etc....
- Irradiance: greater than ± 15%.
- A calibrated UV irradiation sensor (NIST trace to source), mounted on a transmission shaft, for IEC 61215:2005 and IEC 61646:2008 with irradiation ranges of 280~385nm and 280~400nm. 280~320nm to total UV ratio measured by spectrophotometer. The system includes a special guide rail that can easily pull and push the test panels.
- Uniform temperature distribution, ensuring module operating temperature at 60°C±5°C.
- Ultraviolet fluorescent lamp is a cold light source, not less than 280nm UVC irradiation, in order to avoid ozone photosynthetic reaction, which is an important test condition for the IEC standard. UVB and UVA fluorescent lamp, respectively 280~385nm and 280~400nm test. The distance of the lamp can be adjusted, asymmetrical arrangement, easy to adjust the radiation uniformity.
