Phoenix Tribology provides a range of Friction and Abrasion Testing Instruments to respond varieties of requirements customers.

1. TE 33 ENGINE TRIBOMETER:

T33 Engine Tribometer which combines the reciprocating drive mechanism from the TE 77 High Frequency Friction Machine with the specimen tooling of the DN 55 High Temperature Dry Sliding & Fretting Test Machine. The test assembly is located vertically above the reciprocating drive assembly and comprises two fixed specimen arms supported on flexural pivot bearings, which are in turn mounted on linear flexure assemblies.

2. TE 34 PISTON RING MICRO-WELDING RIG

The contact between the ring and the piston groove can give rise to problems of wear, scuffing, micro-welding and, in severe cases, seizure. The TE 34 Piston Ring Micro-Welding Rig may be used for simulating this contact.

3. TE 35 VALVE RECESSION RIG

The TE 35 Valve Impact Rig uses cams that are constant velocity over at least sixty degrees of rotation, with profiles designed to give variable velocity either side of TDC and BDC. Impact velocity, which, as with other rigs, varies with rotational speed, is essentially constant over a significant part of the valve motion.

         

4. TE 37 BOWDEN-LEBEN MACHINE

 

The TE 37 Bowden-Leben machine is a conventional long stroke, low speed, reciprocating tribometer, combining an electro-mechanical ball-screw actuator and linear slide with the proven loading and friction measuring assembly of the TE 67 Pin on Disc Machine.

5. TE 38 LONG STROKE LOW LOAD RECIPROCATING RIG

The TE 38 is a long stroke, low load, ball or pin on reciprocating plate rig. It is supplied on its own steel frame, which has been designed to give the machine the correct amount of support to minimize vibration.
