The Instron CEAST 9050 impact pendulum enables to determine the impact resilience of plastics and composites, easily and safely. The Instron CEAST 9050 impact pendulum includes Charpy, Izod and Tensile Impact.

Features of CEAST 9050 pendulum impact tester:
- The 9050 tester consists of a monolithic metal construction, test components such as hammers, clamping tools, and high resolution supporting touch screens.
- The monolithic frame allows to increase the rigidity of the pendulum, the test parts can be changed with different sized hammers and supporting accessories. In addition, the multi-touch screen is used by the operator to insert and select test parameters and view results. In the engine version, control and automation of the pendulum.
- Connection ports on all versions of the model include:
 + 1 Ethernet connected directly to the customer's network;
 + 1 USB for printer and flash memory;
 + 1 RS232 for direct control of PC and analysis of results. Hammers are mounted to the frame with a quick-change rod connector, their speed measured by a magnetic encoder.
- In addition, safety protection fence is equipped around the pendulum.

CEAST 9050 Motorized Model
- This version comes with a pneumatically operated hammer and brake system as standard. Hammer resetting is performed by a motor, allowing for faster, easier-to-use results.
- In addition, the tight hold feature helps to prevent sample breakage during the 2nd Izod test.
CEAST 9050 Manual Model
- This model is as versatile as the engine version, has many of the same options and fits many of the same standards. However, resetting the hammer is done manually, the braking system is done by the user.
- Tested at ambient temperature
- The properties of the impact test are affected by temperature.
- Plastic materials will become brittle at low temperatures and become more malleable as the temperature increases.
- Determining the brittle and ductile transition temperature is important for many polymer applications. Comprehensive performance for all tests at different temperatures.
