1-Channel telemetry for rotating shafts

KMT single-channel telemetry systems provide a simple, accurate method of measuring strain, torque, thermocouple or voltage signals on rotating or moving machinery while operating in a completely contactless mode. Continuous power is supplied inductively and the signal is transmitted from the moving to the stationary component – with no brushes or wires required! The wireless transfer guarantees an absolute wear-free continuous operation and accurate transmission of measured data.

Applications can be found in the research, development and production of motor vehicles, turbines, wind turbines, aircrafts, rail vehicles, as well as any other machinery and in test bench operations.

Easy configuration, assembly and installation, and the flexibility of using inductive or battery power for the rotor electronics, make the single-channel telemetry systems TEL1-PCM and MT1-PCM genuine multi-talents for all rotary applications.

Modular telemetry for rotating shafts

Modular telemetry systems in various designs and functions are used for non-contact measurement and transmission of torque, acceleration and temperature on rotating shafts.

The digital multi-channel systems MT32 or MTP enable conditioning, digitization and wireless transmission of up to 64 parallel signals. Each sensor module is equipped with signal conditioning, anti-aliasing filters, A/D-converters and digital output. Up to 32 modules (MT32 with 1-CH-modules and MTP with 2-CH-modules) will be controlled by an encoder/controller module. The encoder output is a fast PCM bit stream signal which can be transferred either inductively for small distances or modulated for RF transmission over distances of up to 100 m and data transfer rates of up to 5000 kbit/s.

Point-to-point telemetry

Compact Telemetry Systems with direct sensor input: These multi-channel telemetry systems are designed for easy mounting onto rotating and moving parts to provide non-contact transmission of measured parameters such as pressure, force, temperature, acceleration and voltage. Also suitable for point-to-point applications like bridge or building condition monitoring, the telemetry system offers a wireless solution and replacement of cables between sensor and computer.

Rotating telemetry for wheels and rotors

The CT-Rotate telemetry systems are suitable for the toughest conditions – such as brake testing on wheel rims of cars and trucks in operation. The waterproof systems enable the collection, processing and transmission of 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 parallel strain and/or thermo signals from the rotor.

The processed and digitized signal with 12/16 bit resolution is transferred by means of a special HF radio link to the receiver unit over distances of up to 10 m and digital data transmission rates up to 2.500 kbit/s.

Thermo telemetry

KMT offers single- and multi-channel telemetry systems for non-contact transmission of up to 8 NiCrNi thermocouple signals from rotating shafts, axles, discs or wheels. Allowable distances between the transmitter and the receiver range between up to 5 cm for inductive transfer and up to 10 m for radio transmission.

The stationary receiver provides the readings of the thermocouples as linearized ± 10 V signals for further processing. Measurement accuracy of ± 0.5 % (without sensor) is guaranteed.
